Stewart Copeland 1984 MTV interview clips about The Police breaking up

By | July 7, 2018

Does anyone have the actual full interview? Three short clips, first mentioning how the band fought like 4 year olds sometimes, telling Mark Goodman that the band hadn’t broken up, the last part saying they simply weren’t gonna do a Police project next.
Video Rating: / 5

First-ever live performance of “Message in a Bottle” by the Police. Song had not yet been released. Filmed for a Brit TV show called “Rock Goes to College” filmed at Hatfield Polytechnic College.

Love Stew but is he on drugs here? At worst he looks like he hadn't slept in a week.

The key ingredient is Stewart's knee-high athletic socks with the double stripe, a true classic !

It was Hatfield Polytechnic. There is no College at the end of the name. 😀

As well as becoming the group's first UK Number 1 single in September 1979, Message In A Bottle also topped the Irish Singles Chart.

Well, I think it would be a good thing for newer guitarists to see and hear this to show that everyone struggles at some point.

I wish bands would take risks.

And I wish they'd play without autotune and all the post-production.

    Oh, …. never happen.
